Sadie Renee Smith, age 64, of Paragould, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, in Jonesboro, AR. Sadie was born on September 23, 1959, to the late A.C. Smith, and Opal Irene Birdno Smith in Lepanto, Arkansas.
Sadie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a great love for shopping, and you could often find her at one of the local flea markets in town. She enjoyed working in her yard, but most of all she enjoyed the time she got to spend with her grandkids. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Sadie was preceded in death by her daughter, Morgan Stephanie Smith, brothers, Billy Joe Smith, Jackie Smith, Paul Smith; and one sister, Connie Jones.
She leaves behind, her loving husband of forty years, Marvin Smith, of the home; her children, Bobby (Jennifer) Brumley of Iuka, MS, Lincoln Cash Smith, of Paragould, AR, Cristell (Steve) Strieder, of West Memphis, AR, and Erica Jane Courtney, of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Jimmy Smith, of Marked Tree, AR, and Ronnie Smith of Alabama; sister, Linda Powell, of Jonesboro, AR; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday April 1, 2024, at Mitchell Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 pm, with Jared Pickney officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jonathan Bailey, Hunter Bailey, and Noah Strieder.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice house, 1148 E. Matthews Ave. in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
