Ruth Sikes,91, of Paragould, passed from this life on August 17, 2024 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Arkansas.
Ruth was born on October 2, 1932 to Calvin and Maggie Sims Powers. She devoted over 55 years to being a beautician. Ruth took pride in her own business called Ruth’s House of Beauty. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ attending 7th and Mueller. Ruth always enjoyed getting to spend time with her family and you could often find her at a local garage sale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Janice Dodson, AC Powers, Macon Powers, Junior Powers, Myron Powers, and Doyle Powers.
Ruth is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years Tommy Sikes; daughter, Tammy Sikes McChristian; grandchildren, Chrystal and her husband Corey Johnston, Dale and his wife Tarissa McChristian; great-grandchildren, Alexia Nicole McChristian, Dale Lee McChristian III, Colee Cate J McChristian, and Ferrah Lynn D McChristian.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home with Josh Dement officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. until service time at Mitchell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Ruth’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
