Jonesboro-Ruth P. Springle, 96, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
She was born October 29, 1927, in Monette to the late John and Emma Belle (Harrison) Barber. She was of the Baptist faith. She spent most of her life in Jonesboro and was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers, and traveling.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John B. Springle; son-in-law, Richey Whittingham; five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters; Charlotte (Norman) Dickson of Jonesboro; Pamela Whittingham of Bono; and Cathy (Terry) Tankersley of Troutville, VA; grandchildren, Drs Scott (Heather) Dickson, Bradley (Lara) Dickson, Kristi (Chris) Viala, Kevin (Ashley) Whittingham of Jonesboro; Kayla (Dr. Cody) Patterson of Bono; Michelle (Marvin) Haines of Hillsboro, VA; and Tiffany (Brandon) Uhl of Lexington, VA; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Don Martin will be officiating.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Kevin Whittingham, Dr. Scott Dickson, Bradley Dickson, Cody Patterson, Chris Viala, Marvin Haines, and Brandon Uhl.
