Rodney Glen McCloud, aged 83, of Maynard, passed away on November 12, 2024, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born on September 17, 1941, in Malvern, Arkansas, Rodney was the beloved son of the late Carl McCloud and Lois Slate McCloud. On January 8, 2000, he married Kathy Sullinger, and together they shared 25 wonderful years.
Rodney was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as hunting, fishing, and camping. His happiest moments were those spent with his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy McCloud of Maynard; his children, Rick (Stephanie) McCloud of Paragould, Kandi Guerra of Pocahontas, and Justin (Mary) Tidwell of Hot Springs; his brother, Randy (Tammie) McCloud of Clarksville; and his cherished grandchildren, Peyton Guerra, Chloe (Nick) Cambron, Victoria Tidwell, Trenton Tidwell, Logan Guerra, Emma, Sophia, and Layla Tidwell, and Zachary (Alexa) Holt. Rodney also leaves behind great-grandchildren, PJ Guerra and twin babies expected in April 2025.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lois McCloud; his brothers, Donny and Spanky; his sister, Becky; and his son, Chris.
All services will be held at First United Pentecostal Church in Pocahontas. Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10-11 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11 AM with Rev. Jerry Cochran and Rev. Rick Ethridge officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.
