Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The Red Wolf Express will not run for Arkansas State University’s home game against Louisiana on Thursday, Nov. 20.

The announcement was made on the Jonesboro Economical Transportation (JET) Facebook page. JET marketing coordinator Ryan Brasher said this will not affect normal operations or future weekend events.

“We deliberated with the team and our operations managers to see if this was going to be doable and logistically, we don’t think it would be able to run as efficiently or as well as a Red Wolves Express that is on the weekends due to it being in the middle of the week,” Brasher said. “A lot of our drivers are already running full routes, and our car transit is in full gear, so we decided that it would be best to not do it on a Thursday game due to those reasons.”

Brasher added that the Red Wolf Express will still be running for Saturday home games.

Director of Transit Lee Wells also noted that JET has eight to nine vehicles that serve over 200 paratransit customers daily, as well as five fixed routes operating on two full shifts throughout the day.

“When you look at that, we have approximately 20 employees that are already scheduled for a regular shift during the week,” Wells said. “With our staffing that we have it’s just difficult to be able to either ask someone to put in some extra hours or to find someone who is available who doesn’t already have a current shift.”
