Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – June 25, 2024 – Jonesboro police officers were dispatched to Caraway Road Sunday after a caller said that a man in a red shirt tried to sell them some weed out in front of Burlington Coat Factory.

Officers made contact with a person fitting that description, Delosangeles Harper, leaning on the railing out in front of Burlington. Dispatch informed the officers that Harper was on probation. When officers asked about any recent attempts to sell weed, he denied it.

He did say that a backpack nearby belonged to him. Officers asked about searching that backpack and Harper said “okay.”

They noticed a pink grinder with marijuana residue in it. Harper said the grinder belonged to a friend and he just happened to pick it up when he left his house.

There was also a glass meth pipe with some meth residue in it… but that wasn’t his pipe, he said.

Officers also found a small baggie with meth in it… that WAS his meth… Harper admitted that he’d just started using meth in the last month, since he got out of prison.

According to the Probable Cause affidavit, Harper is being charged with possession of meth and/or cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia…both felonies. His bond was set at $15,000 and he’s due back in court next month.
