Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 10, 2024 – A Jonesboro man is sitting behind bars after a judge set his bond at $1 million.

Randy Anthony Irvine, 61, was charged with rape, a class Y felony, after District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge him with the count.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers went to St. Bernards Medical Center on Aug. 14, 2023, about a sexual assault victim. A juvenile girl under the age of 14 said that Irvine touched her inappropriately multiple times.

A sexual assault kit was collected at the hospital and sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for processing, according to the affidavit.

Irvine was interviewed about the incidents but denied any sexual contact was made.

On Wednesday, detectives received the results of the sexual assault kit from the crime lab, which listed Irvine as a match. He has a twin brother, but detectives found out that his twin brother has been incarcerated in Missouri since 2018. Detectives called the facility to confirm the incarceration. This ruled out the twin as a suspect.

Irvine was arrested on Thursday, May 9.

Boling issued a no-contact order between Irvine and the victim. Irvine is also prohibited from being around anyone under the age of 18 years old.
