Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — Aug. 6, 2025 — QC Kinetix Jonesboro is helping Northeast Arkansas patients recover from joint pain through non-surgical regenerative orthopedic therapies that utilize the body’s plasma and stem cells.

According to the QC Kinetix Jonesboro co-founders and consult coordinators, Scott Holden and Chris Enger, DPT, said they are providing regenerative medicine that focuses on the body’s inherent ability to heal itself, helping patients recover with minimally invasive procedures and avoiding side effects of traditional treatments.

“Regenerative medicine is a fairly new concept in the medical world, but essentially we’re taking your body’s ability to heal itself and we’re reintroducing it back into the affected area,” Holden explained, which is where he said their medical provider, Lisa Sherrill, APRN, comes in.

After Holden and/or Enger does to the initial consult with patients and gathers their medical information, Sherrill is responsible for medically clearing patients to determine if they qualify to receive treatment before passing them back to Holden and/or Enger to discuss pricing and the different aspects of what they qualify for.

From there, Sherrill and her medical assistant will continue to the procedure, which could include plasma injections or bone marrow aspiration.

According to Sherrill, platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections are made from the patient’s own blood.  They are cells within a person’s body that assist with clotting, healing, disease-fighting and more.

“What we do is we restart your own body’s mechanism to repair it,” she said. “So, it helps people without surgery.”

Stem cells, which are extracted from the patient’s own bone marrow, have even more power, she said.

“When we withdraw the stem cells in the patient’s pelvis and then infuse it into the knee for example, it can actually change into the cells that are needed to repair the joint. So, it’s kind of the cat’s meow of what everybody wants because it is more powerful than just the plasma,” Sherrill said.

While extracting the stem cells is not a long procedure, it can be uncomfortable, she said, noting that staff will work to alleviate by pain by numbing the site and extracting enough blood stem cells to do the bone marrow aspirate concentrate procedure.

Most treatments last eight to 10 weeks depending on the individual’s treatment plan, Holden added. Some conditions that can be addressed include arthritis-related pain; tendon, ligament and muscle pain; recent and past injuries; chronic joint pain; athletic wear and tear, and more.

While the QC Kinetix franchise has been around for about six years, Holden and Enger opened their clinic in March. Both Nettleton High School graduates, they have been friends since high school.

But the clinic isn’t their only job, as Enger has been a Doctor of Physical Therapy practicing in outpatient physical therapy for 13 years and Holden owns and operates a local employment agency.

“I was researching other opportunities, and I came across this. So, I picked Chris’s brain about regenerative medicine, and he actually treated some patients four or five years ago that had gone to St. Louis to have some stem cell treatments done and he was fairly familiar with it. Plus, he is very passionate about patient health and positive patient outcomes,” Holden said. “This was something where we felt like there was a space in Jonesboro where people could benefit from this. It’s an alternative to surgery. It’s an alternative to steroid injection. It’s an alternative to pain pills.”

While insurance doesn’t cover regenerative medicine, Holden said they do have financing options available.

“This is the future of medicine, in my opinion, and the research I’ve done shows that some of the biggest healthcare entities in the U.S. are using some regenerative type of medicine treatments with patients,” he said. “So, we’re here trying to offer this as an alternative to folks in Northeast Arkansas.”
