Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 30, 2025 — A Jonesboro woman faces several drug charges after police said a failed drug test led them to discovering meth, prescription pills, paraphernalia, all at a home located near a school and church.
Judge David Boling found probable cause June 30 to charge 50-year-old Jennifer Lyn Smart-Tippen with offenses relating to records, maintaining premises, etc., possession of meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver greater than two grams but less than 10 grams, possession of a Schedule I or II substance that is not meth or cocaine less than two grams, possession of a Schedule VI substance less than four ounces, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
On June 25, an agent was conducting surveillance on Smart at an apartment in the 900 block of West Huntington Avenue for narcotics traffic.
According to the affidavit, the agent saw Smart exit the apartment with her husband and go to a federal building to meet with her probation officer.
After the meeting concluded, the agent met with the probation officer, who informed the agent that Smart had failed her drug test for meth. Investigators soon got Smart in custody and took her back to her home for a probation search.
The affidavit stated that several items were found during the search:
- Three glass meth pipes with residue
- A dish with meth residue
- A M365 hydrocodone pill
- Three grams of marijuana
- Two THC vape pens
- Two magnetic concealment boxes with meth residue
- Four grams of meth
- A digital scale covered in meth residue
When questioned about the items, Smart said it was her house, and the items belonged to her.
The affidavit noted that Smart’s home is located directly across from a church that hosts Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings, as well as approximately 850 feet from the Leadership Magnet School.
Smart is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash/surety bond. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.
