Jonesboro-Phyllis Jean McElhaney passed from this life on November 20, 2024 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, at the age of 68.

She was born April, 28, 1956 to Oneal and Marjorie  Austin in Monette, Arkansas.

Phyllis worked at Colson and EIS in Manila for many years before opening her own dog grooming shop in Jonesboro, before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going on trips to Branson and Hot Springs. She especially loved her son and grandchild. She was a member of Rowes Chapel Baptist Church. She also leaves behind her fur babies, Macy and Cookie. Phyllis had many family and friends who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oneal Austin and her husband, Leslie McElhaney.

She is survived by one son, Shane Harville of Manila, two step-sons, David ( Amber ) McElhaney of Jonesboro and Shaun (Tracy) McElhaney of Greenbriar. Her mother Marjorie Austin Glidewell of Monette, her sister, Amy (Kevin) Keiter of Monette,a granddaughter, Keira South-Owens, of Manila. Nephews, Lance (Mallary) Davis, Daniel ( Marka) Davis, great nephews, Mace Davis, Cayden Davis, great niece, Drennan  Davis all of Monette.

Those honored to be pallbearers are Lance Davis, Daniel Davis, Tony Austin, Kevin Austin, Ken Womack and Tyler Dean.

Funeral services are Friday, November 22,at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette at 2:00 p.m. with pastor Jered Russell officiating. Visitation will be Friday before services, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
