Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 24, 2025 — Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes are available through area animal rescues and shelters, as well as opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations, and help with fundraisers and other family-friendly activities.
JRN has partnered with area animal shelters to present “Pets of the Week.” We will feature a handful of animals each week. If interested in adopting or volunteering with the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, go to neahs.org.
Meet River: River is a 2-year-old domestic shorthair female cat. With a black and white coat, she’s as adorable as she is sweet! She’s only been in the shelter for six days, but she’s already a staff favorite.
Meet Roper: Roper is a two-and-half-year-old male shepherd mix. He weighs 74 lbs., is heartworm negative and is neutered. He’s been in the shelter for 25 weeks, but we can’t figure out why! Roper loves kids and other animals and is a delight to take anywhere; he’s our gentle giant!
