Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 14, 2025 — Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds and sizes are available through area animal rescues and shelters, as well as opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations, and help with fundraisers and other family-friendly activities.
JRN has partnered with area animal shelters to present “Pets of the Week.” We will feature a handful of animals each week. If interested in adopting or volunteering with the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, go to neahs.org.
Meet Smokestack: Smokestack is a 12-week-old, domestic shorthair male kitten. He’s been in the shelter for six weeks, where he plays with his siblings, Suzanne and Sinclair. He’s energetic and playful and is up to date on all of his vaccines. He’s also been neutered and microchipped, so he’s all ready to go to his furever home!
Meet Monkey: Monkey is the BEST dog in the world! He’s 64 lbs., three years old, and despite being the best, has been in the shelter for one year and one month. He’s heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and up to date. Currently, his favorite playmate is Haze, but he loves everyone, everything, and everywhere!
