Paulette (Cook) Linam, age 74, of Paragould, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, surrounded by her loving family. Paulette was born on September 6, 1949, to the late Charles Glen Cook, Sr. and Juanita DeBow Cook in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.
Paulette was a dedicated member of Harvest Baptist Church in Paragould. She loved children and worked as a special education teacher for twenty-one years, prior to her retirement. She had a passion for teaching, and taught Sunday School at Chateau on the Ridge from 2020-2023, until her health declined. She was a valued resident at the Chateau and served on their residence council as the Resident President. Paulette loved to read and do word searches, but most of all she loved anything that her grandkids did. Family was the light of her life. She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Wayne Linam, and her sister, Ruth (Cook) DuBus.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Jason (Tina) Linam, and Melissa (Aaron) Thompson; brother, Charles G. (Vicki) Cook; grandchildren, Shelby Linam, Molly Linam, Halli Thompson, Emmi Thompson, and Aaden Thompson; one great grandchild, Vivian Linam, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Mitchell Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 9, 2024, beginning at 10:00 am with Jason Noel officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Trey Cook, Scott Holden, Shelby Linam, Matt McGowan, Stacey Noel, and Clayton Ullman.
