Patricia Ann Sweat, 70, of Jonesboro passed away at St. Bernards, Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1954, in Blytheville, AR to John Thomas James and Alice Lee Stokes.

Patricia accepted Christ at an early age and was a long-standing member of First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. After graduating High School, Pat Went on to obtain her associate’s degree from the University of Nebraska. She returned Home to Walnut Ridge, where she worked for Skil Power Tools for nearly 30 Years. After her retirement in 2014, She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson George and her faithful granddog Asia. Her vibrant personality brought life and love to everyone she encountered. She loved visiting her family near and far, never missing an opportunity to travel, something that she loved to do. Pat was very quick-witted and intelligent, which explains her love for crime shows. Pat, being a social butterfly, was often the life of the party and brought joy and laughter to everyone in her presence.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Sweat; father, John (Johnnie) James; mother, Alice Lee Stokes; son, Terrance James; 2 brothers, Curtis Brown and Michael Gray; two sisters, Lajuanna Staten and Marsha Edmonson and Her Sister-in-law Dollie Oaks.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Sweat of Jonesboro, grandson, George Sweat of Jonesboro, and two brothers. Johnny Martin James of Milwaukee, WI., and John (Annette) James of Osceola, AR., three sisters Irene (Ricky) Nichols of Blytheville, AR., Willean Ezikpe of Blytheville, AR., and Shirley White of Kansas City, MO., stepmother Carolyn James of Jonesboro, AR., special nephew Shunton Campbell of Blytheville, several nieces and nephews and a dear friend Daisy Young of Jonesboro, AR.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11a.m. at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, funeral service will be held at 1p.m. with Pastor Gregory Alexander officiating and burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas, AR.

Pallbearers will be Tydarius Pope, Tyrone Pope Jr, Julian Dority, Kiree Carter, Juztin Galbreath, Xavier Nichols.
