Harrisburg, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 30, 2024 – For the second year in a row, the Spring Vintage Market will be held at the Parker Pioneer Homestead south of Harrisburg.

The event, which features 50 vendors selling old farm pieces, signage, machinery, tools, furniture, jewelry, wood carvings and other antiquated items, will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday and end at 5 p.m.

Vendors will set up in a large field in the middle of the homestead off of Arkansas Highway 1.

“It’s vintage stuff,” said promoter Cy Parker of the merchandise offered. He said vendors will come from all over the state and from western Tennessee. Each will sell their wares in 10×12 spaces at the homestead.

It’s a fitting place to hold such a sale. The Parker Pioneer Homestead, located about 6 miles south of Harrisburg, is a replica old farming community. There are old wooden planked barns, plows, and a general store. Old farm tractors and equipment sit on the property and old signs advertising gasoline companies and oil products hang on buildings. There are four cabins people can rent for the nights as bed and breakfast venues.

The property has been in Parker’s family for 35 years. Each fall, crafters and re-enactors display the making of sorghum and other practices of early farming days.

It’s the second year the Homestead is hosting the Vintage Market. In the past, it was held at the Poinsett County Fairgrounds and was called the Crowley’s Ridge Vintage Market.

Last year, 2,000 people attended the market, Parker said.

He said the market will be held regardless of inclement weather. Admission is $5 per person.
