Paragould, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – A Paragould woman is behind bars after police said she struck a victim in the face with a set of keys, threatened to kill him, and threw a knife at him during an argument.

Summer Knuckles, 19, was arrested and booked into the Greene County Detention Center on Aug. 24, the inmate roster shows.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Paragould police officers responded to a home in the 700 block of Theil Road earlier that day regarding an assault. They met with Knuckles, who explained she was arguing with the victim who hit her with a chair twice, but she admitted to threatening to kill him.

The victim told officers that while arguing, Knuckles struck him in the face twice with a set of keys, and he pushed her down to try to get the keys. Knuckles’ phone was thrown across the room, but the victim said he grabbed the first thing that was in her hand, thinking that it was the keys.

After this, the victim claimed that Knuckles screamed “I am going to kill you” and ran out of the room. Once he turned around, Knuckles was running back into the room with a knife. He swung a chair at Knuckles twice as she threw the knife at him.

In an interview with a detective, Knuckles admitted to striking the victim twice with keys before asking for an attorney. Video shown to officers of the incident also corroborated with the victim’s statements.

On Aug. 25, District Court Judge Curtis Hitt set Knuckles’ bond at $125,000 cash/surety, with the conditions that she have no contact with the victim and not possess any weapons.

Knuckles faces three charges:

  • Aggravated assault on family or household member (Class D felony)
  • Terroristic threatening (Class D felony)
  • Third-degree domestic battering (Class A misdemeanor)
