Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 14, 2025 – The Northeast Arkansas community raised over $500,000 to grant wishes for children with critical illnesses in the 27th annual Have-A-Heart Wish-A-Thon.
A total of $547,341.90 was raised in the event, which was sponsored by KAIT and the Jonesboro Media Group (JMG).
“I just can’t thank people enough for believing in it and Make-A-Wish in the way that we do,” said Christie Matthews, JMG Sales Manager and On-Air Talent. “I never would have dreamed that 27 years ago when we started this event that we could hit half a million dollars, let alone surpass it.”
Matthews added that the total was over $100,000 more than last year’s amount.
She also thanked the road blockers, who worked from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in 17 cities across Northeast Arkansas.
“They are the lifeline of this event. If it weren’t for those folks standing in the streets with those buckets, this wouldn’t happen,” Matthews said.
