Nova Jo Grissom, 76, of Paragould, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024. She was born on December 12, 1948, to Hershel Clayborn and Amy Yeargain.
Nova Jo was a spirited soul with a heart full of love for life’s simple joys, leaving behind memories that will forever bring smiles to those who knew her.
She had a passion for the classics, especially the timeless music of Elvis Presley, whose tunes often filled her home and heart. Her mornings were incomplete without a good cup of coffee, and she cherished the thrill of hunting for treasures at garage sales. Nova Jo found joy in so many things, from watching Yellowstone on constant repeat to traveling to Branson with her family.
Above all, Nova Jo was known for her generous heart and open arms. She would do anything for a friend or even a stranger, making everyone feel like family. Her warmth, kindness, and ability to find joy in life will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Amy; her brother, Robert Harold Yeargain; her infant son, Matthew Lee Grissom; and her infant granddaughter, Ashton Leigh Martin.
Nova Jo leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Grissom; her daughters, Stacey Holladay; (Bart) of Nashville, TN, and Theresa Martin of Paragould; and her beloved granddaughters, Millie Grace Holladay and Taylor Denise Martin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, from 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12PM at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Garden.
