Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 18, 2025 — The Westside Consolidated School District announced its new superintendent Tuesday.
The district announced that Chris George, a 1998 Westside graduate, would be the new superintendent effective July 1 in a Facebook post.
During his 22-year career at Westside, George served as a coach of numerous sports, including basketball, but was also the dean of students at Westside Middle School and was assistant principal and later principal of Westside High School.
“Westside is honored to have a leader who knows, loves, and believes in our district,” the Facebook post said. “Please join us in congratulating and supporting him as he leads the Warriors forward!”
George replaces superintendent Scott Guantt, who is taking a job as director at the Northeast Arkansas Educational Co-Op in Walnut Ridge.
