Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 8, 2025 — From in-clinic to in-home, the new Red River Infusion Clinic and Pharmacy of Jonesboro is now providing a variety of specialty care to hospitals and patients across Northeast Arkansas.
Red River Health is a provider-based infusion clinic that caters to patients with rare, chronic, and complex conditions. It has multiple nurse practitioners, infusion nurses, pharmacy technicians and other staff on site.
Director of operations Amber Johnson said the clinic, which opened in early March, will take care of specialty infusions for patients in the region, including intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) infusion, intravenous gastrointestinal (IV GI) therapy, neurological therapies for conditions such as Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis, primary immunodeficiency, osteoporosis, iron deficiency, anemia, and migraines.
The clinic houses a pharmacy and a cleanroom for producing medications. It also has semi-private ambulatory infusion suites and private ambulatory infusion rooms with leather recliners, and items such as blankets, complimentary snacks and beverage options, iPads and free Wi-Fi.
“Our goal in this area is that we could be a comfortable place for patients to come to get those infusions and have an option of where they can go to get those infusions,” Johnson said. “Clinic patients may be here getting therapy for four to six hours, depending on their medication. What we’re trying to do is make them the most comfortable.”

As for home therapy, the clinic’s registered nursing staff provides treatment within about an hour’s radius of Jonesboro, sending out medications from their pharmacy, Johnson said.
“The neat thing about Red River is we can sometimes offer those infusions in the home as well with our infusion nurses,” she said. “It’s a lot of times dependent on the patient’s therapy and their insurance and also their choice on whether or not we could see them in the office or in the home.”
Johnson added that the clinic is working with doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to provide medications across the region and the state, and plans for its long-term care pharmacy to open in the fall.
“The long-term care pharmacy will be providing medications for patients in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities,” she said. “So, it won’t really be individuals coming to pick up the medicine. It’ll be the nursing home.”
“We have a dedicated delivery staff that sends all those medications out whether it’s for those nursing homes or it’s for the individual for the home infusions. We take care of getting it to them ourselves,” Johnson said.

Red River Health also has a nuclear pharmacy, which provides diagnostic tests and radioactive pharmaceuticals to local hospitals. These include diagnostics to look at the body’s function, and cancer medications to treat cancers such as thyroid cancer and liver metastases.
“Our staff makes it priority to help providers and patients with PAs [prior authorizations] and other insurance requirements so that each individual can get the infusions they need,” Johnson said.
