Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 6, 2023 – Jonesboro will have a new private school for parents to consider for their K through 12 children when the Axios Jonesboro Christian Academy opens in August.
Darrell Runyan is the driving force behind the school, and he’s been working toward giving Jonesboro parents another educational choice for quite some time. Axios, which means “worthy” in Greek, will be a school geared toward families that want to raise their children to be successful in education.
“This school is for students that want more rigor to their education”, Runyan stated. “More challenges at different levels. We want each student to be pushed to their limit…to excel as well as they can in their educational environment.”
As pastor of Pentecostals of Jonesboro for the last 12 years, Runyan is focused on providing a Christian world view in every subject. “We’re not just having a Christian school with a bible class” he said. “It’s the Christian world view being taught in mathematics, science and history. So that when you graduate, you’re prepared to go out into college and life as a Christian leader.”
“I look at our society, and we need Christian leaders. We need young people that graduate to know there’s more than just complaining to a school board. Go get on the school board. And be a part of the solution as a Christian leader…and that’s where our focus is.”
“We’re trying to teach them how to be a part of something bigger than themselves.”
Online registration will begin soon. Watch axiosjca.com for details and updates.
