Little Rock, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jan. 14, 2025 – Numerous Northeast Arkansas legislators were named to state Senate and House committees yesterday as the 2025 legislative session began.
State Senate:
Sen. Dave Wallace (R-District 19) will serve as vice chair for the Public Health Welfare and Labor Committee.
Wallace is serving on the following committees: Arkansas Legislative Council (ALC), Legislative Joint Auditing, Joint Budget Committee, the Senate City, Couty and Local Affairs Committee, the Senate Children and Youth Committee, and Senate Rules, Resolutions and Memorials.
Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-District 20) will serve as vice chair of the Education Committee. Sullivan is serving on the following committees: ALC, Joint Performance Review, Legislative Joint Auditing, Joint Budget Committee, State Agencies and Governmental Affairs, and the Senate Children and Youth Committee.
District 19 includes most of Craighead and Poinsett Counties, as well as Mississippi County. District 20 includes most of Jonesboro, the western parts of Nettleton, and all of Bono, Pleasant Grove and Herndon Township.
State House of Representatives:
Rep. Frances Cavenaugh (R-District 30) is chairing the House Revenue and Taxation Committee. She was named vice chair of the Joint Budget Committee’s Personnel Subcommittee and is chairing the Administrative Rules Subcommittee of the Joint Budget Committee. She is also serving on the City, County and Local Affairs Committee.
Rep. Jack Ladyman (R-District 32) is vice chair of the Arkansas Legislative Council. He is also serving on the Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee and the Insurance and Commerce Committee.
Rep. Jon Milligan (R-District 33) is vice chair of the Public Transporation Committee. He is serving on the City, County and Local Affairs Committee.
Rep. Johnny Rye (R-District 36) serves on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee and the House City, County, and Local Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Joint Auditing Committee.
Rep. Dwight Tosh (R-District 38) is serving on the Judiciary Committee, Insurance and Commerce. He was also named to serve as an Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore for the federal 1st Congressional District, which includes Northeast Arkansas.
District 30 includes parts of Craighead, Greene and Lawrence Counties. District 32 is a small part of Craighead County, including Jonesboro. District 33 includes parts of Craighead and Mississippi Counties. District 36 includes parts of Craighead and Poinsett Counties and District 38 includes parts of Craighead, Poinsett and Jackson Counties.
