Myra Lea Parks, a beacon of love and friendship, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 82. Born on June 22, 1942, in Clay County, Arkansas, Myra grew up in a world that was rapidly changing, yet she held on to the timeless values of kindness and generosity that would define her life.

Preceded in death by her parents, Euva Nell and Richard Brown, her brother: Steven Brown and her cherished husband, Roger Parks. Myra’s legacy of love continues through her family. She leaves behind her devoted son, Brett Parks of Rector; her adoring grandchildren, Elyse (Matt) Blount, Sarah Parks, and Logan (Mollie) Burnett; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Chance, Eli, Walker, River, and Abel, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Myra is also survived by her brother, Joe (Carrie) Brown of South Haven, Mississippi. Her extended family and a multitude of friends will forever remember her warm spirit.

Myra’s professional life was marked by her role as a secretary for Baker Implement, where she was not only an employee but a friend to many. Her colleagues will remember her for her unwavering support, her friendly demeanor, and her thoughtful approach to every task and interaction.

Beyond her work, Myra found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She was often found spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Myra’s love for her family extended to the farm, where she cherished the time spent in the company of nature and her loved ones. Yard sales were a particular joy for her, as she found delight in discovering treasures and sharing them with those she cared about. A wonderful cook, Myra’s kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious aromas, and her recipes will be cherished and passed down through generations. Shopping was another pastime where she showed her love by thoughtfully selecting gifts that brought smiles to the faces of her family and friends.

Those who knew Myra will remember her as a loving soul, always ready with a friendly word and a helping hand. Her thoughtfulness knew no bounds, and she had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and cared for. Her presence was a comfort, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will celebrate the life of Myra with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 30, 2024 at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Bro. David Richie officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Heights Cemetery.
