Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – June 13, 2024 – Jonesboro Police were dispatched to the intersection of Vine and Monroe on Monday afternoon in reference to shots being fired.
Officers located a number of shell casings. Detectives on scene located a vehicle and a house that were both hit by gunfire.
Witnesses say they saw several suspects shooting in the area.
According to the police report, the complainants were two Jonesboro women in their mid-30’s while all of the suspects (a total of 7) ranged in age from 13 to 18.
During their investigation, police arrested 18-year-old Markel Miller after he was positively identified at the scene by multiple witnesses. Miller can also be seen in video footage of the incident.
Miller was arrested for a Terroristic Act and Aggravated Assault, both felonies, and admitted to shooting at several subjects during the incident. He was given a $150,000 c/s bond and a court date of July 26.
JPD is still investigating the incident and could make more arrests.
