Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept 10, 2024 – Jonesboro police were dispatched Sept 5 around 11 pm to a home on North Allis Street, where a 52-year-old woman was complaining of harassment from a group of juveniles.

The officer made contact with Norma Mata, who showed video evidence of several individuals entering her driveway. They allegedly displayed large amounts of cash and made obscene gestures toward the camera system the victim had installed at her home.

Officers found a group of juveniles further up the street and determined that they were the ones causing the problem with the victim. As officers tried to detain one of the juveniles, the suspect fled. The remaining juveniles reportedly continued to verbally abuse the officer. One of their mothers, 34-year-old Brittany Collins, reportedly joined the group, yelling at him. According to the police report, Collins even struck the officer in the head, and when he turned his attention to her, one of the group used a cell phone to hit him in the back of the head, causing a severe laceration.

Collins and several juveniles were arrested. According to the report, Collins resisted arrest and had to be forcibly subdued. The juveniles involved were also detained, with multiple charges being filed against them and Collins, including battery, injury to law enforcement while resisting arrest, refusal to submit and disorderly conduct.
