Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – March 26, 2024 – Jonesboro police said Tuesday that a 17-year-old student at Ridgefield Christian High School has been found safe in Florida, according to Sally Smith, public information specialist with the Jonesboro Police Department.
The girl was reported missing on Monday, March 25. She was located in Florida on Tuesday, March 26.
Smith said the girl’s parents were heading to a town in the Florida panhandle on Tuesday to pick her up from where she is being held in protective custody by local law enforcement.
The student was last seen shortly before noon on Monday as she got into a silver car with a male. Smith said investigators returned to the school on Tuesday to see if surveillance video was available. She said the girl appeared to willingly get into the car.
Smith said the girl’s parents think the male may be someone she met online.
