Michael Chad Richardson, age 53, passed away peacefully at Norton Cancer Center in Louisville KY, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Chad was born in Pocahontas, AR and attended Pocahontas High School, class of 1988. He attended Arkansas State University.
Chad is survived by his parents, Mike and Judy Richardson of Pocahontas AR, his partner, Donald Hunt of Bowling Green, KY, brothers, Nick Richardson of Atlanta, GA, and Brandon Richardson (Jenifer) nephews, Jake and Kade and a niece, Ava of Poplar Bluff, MO. He is also survived by a special brother, Joey McDowell and a special sister, Marta Woosley. Several aunts and uncles, and four beloved spaniels, Louis, Bash, Betty, and Henry.
Chad was a kind soul with a generous and giving spirit. He had a deep love for animals, dating back to his childhood in Arkansas. Over the years Chad cared for numerous pets – from Cocker Spaniels and Persian Cats to most recently his four beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Chad and his partner Donald lived in Bowling Green for 30 years. Chad had a lot of pride in his community, and also in the homes he and Donald shared over the years. They renovated 3 houses – and each were unique and stunning.
Chad loved gardening and his yard and had a very “green thumb.” He shared his talents with others through his home and garden design business – where he designed landscaping, planter pots, water features and koi ponds for his clients. His lawn was always in bloom, no matter the time of year.
He loved hosting dinners and getting together with friends on his patio. His home was where he felt most “at home.” All of his friends no doubt have great memories of evenings spent together on the patio laughing, telling stories, and cooking on the grill.
Chad was known for his unconditional love and kindness to his friends and family. Chad’s life reminds us to create beauty where it is absent and to enhance it with love, generosity, and empathy where it already exists. His journey on this Earth touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Chad was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C and Betty Hoggard, Ralph and Daisy Richardson, and his Uncle Dwaine Hoggard all of Pocahontas.
Visitation will be Friday May 31, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the J.C.
