Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 5, 2025 — Meet Me On Main is an initiative by the Jonesboro Media Group, parent of Jonesboro Right Now, and First Horizon Bank – located in the historic landmark building at Main Street and Washington Avenue at the unofficial entrance to downtown Jonesboro.
A section of Main Street was closed Sept. 25, 2024, due to concerns about the safety of the former Citizens Bank building across Main from First Horizon.
The building was condemned, demolished and the lot and streets around it improved. Main Street reopened May 13, 2025, much to the excitement of downtown business owners, operators and downtown residents.
JMG and the First Horizon Foundation are promoting and supporting the downtown businesses with a series of articles. The articles will be published each Thursday for the next several weeks. In addition, there will be promotion efforts on JMG’s six radio stations each Thursday. JMG and First Horizon urge you to visit and support these businesses.
This week’s featured business: Downtown Medicine and Spa
At the corner of Main Street and Huntington Avenue, Downtown Medicine and Spa has been bringing a blend of wellness and aesthetics to the community since October 2021. Co-owners Hannah Howard and Tanika Jarrett, both nurse practitioners, saw the business as a fresh start after the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I bought it with my husband,” Howard said. “Our date spot is upstairs at Omar’s, and so we would sit there every Tuesday and look at this building. And then during COVID, I was doing oncology and hospice and lost a lot of patients.”
“I dragged Tanika into it,” she added. “We decided we wanted to do happy medicine after COVID.”
The spa offers a wide range of services, from wellness appointments like flu and strep testing to aesthetic treatments for men and women, like Botox and hormone replacement therapy.
“We do wellness appointments, so cold, flu, strip swabs. Steroid injections, antibiotics. We’re both nurse practitioners, so we are family practice certified. So, we have a little wellness clinic population that we do, as well as all the aesthetic side of things” Howard said.
“We have people who come in and just do a cash pay appointment because they can come in and be seen in like 15 minutes instead of four hours at an urgent care. A lot of people will come in for a sinus cocktail or a B12 shot,” Jarrett said.
Upstairs, a boutique features women’s clothing, purses, candles and soaps. There are grooming products for men. Both the spa and the boutique are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

While the closure of Main Street impacted some downtown businesses, Downtown Medicine and Spa remained steady.
“We do appointments. So, people are scheduled to come here. We don’t rely a lot on foot traffic,” Jarrett said.
They accept Care Credit and help clients apply on-site, as it will pay for current and future services, Howard said.
Looking ahead, the duo is optimistic. Has there ever been talk about an additional location?
“The sky is the limit!” they both agreed.

A portion of the Meet Me On Main promotion effort is being provided by First Horizon Foundation, the private, charitable foundation of First Horizon Corporation. Founded in 1993 to serve the communities in which First Horizon operates; the Foundation has donated more than $150 million across the First Horizon footprint.
The grants are invested in a way that responds inclusively to community needs and promotes progress and prosperity across these impact areas: arts & culture, education & leadership, environmental sustainability, financial literacy, and health & human services. The Foundation has awarded nearly a quarter million dollars in Northeast Arkansas over the last few years.
