Meda Lou Colby passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024, in Lafe, Arkansas. Born on September 19, 1936, in the small town of Lynn, Arkansas, Meda’s life was filled with joyous moments and enduring love for her family.
Meda’s passion for life was evident in her love for watching sports. Whether it was cheering on her favorite teams or attending local games, her enthusiasm was contagious. Her love for music filled her home with melodies. As an avid reader, Meda found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books, which were her companions in quiet times.
Above all, Meda’s love for her children and family was unparalleled. She nurtured and guided with a gentle hand and a generous heart. The bonds she formed were unbreakable, and her legacy of love and devotion will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Meda was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Henry Lucille Manus; husband, Ed Colby; son, James Owen; and sisters, Nancy, Patsy, Barbara, and Peggy.
Survivors include her children, Rodney Worsham of Berryville, Arkansas, Jerry Worsham of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Rebecca Sorrels (Bobby) of Rogers, Arkansas, Nanette Gonzalez (Ramon) of Burton, Michigan; Billie Ruth Scholl of Trenton, Missouri, Sam Hazlewood (Dawn) of Davison, Michigan, and Sarah Hazlewood (Greg) of Lafe, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousin; and endless friends.
