Mary Mabel Weisenbach, 80, of Pocahontas passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.
Mary was born July 17, 1943 in Pocahontas to the late Mike and Dorothy Riga Thiele. Mary was a devoted Catholic. At age 13, she joined the Olivetan Benedictine Juniorate at St. John Catholic Church, but before she took her final vows she decided to leave. After a few years she met Lawrence Weisenbach and became a part of St. John parish. Mary gave much time to serving her parish. She particularly loved working as sacristan and choir director. She served in many other roles for St. John Catholic Church including long-term secretary and director of religious education for the parish youth, where she earned the moniker “Miss Mary.” She was also known by many people from her many years working at TRW Cinch. Everyone who knew her describe her as a “sweet lady.” She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Dorothy Thiele; husband, Lawrence Weisenbach; and brothers, Louis, Bill, and Frank Thiele.
She is survived by her children, Larry Weisenbach of Jonesboro, Karen (Delmer) Moore of Biggers, and Angela Weisenbach of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Josh (Andromeda) Weisenbach of Vanderbilt, MI, Jillian Weisenbach of Jonesboro, Lawson Weisenbach of Jonesboro, Alison (Matthew) Mann of Jonesboro, Felicia Moore of Jonesboro, and Joey (Alix) Moore; two great grandchildren, Nora and Trey Mann; brother, Jerome Thiele; sisters, Stella Lundry, Dolores Thiele, and Regina Pickney; and many other relatives and friends.
All services will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at St. John Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 AM with a Rosary being said at 10:30. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM with Fr. Stephen Elser officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jim Steimel, Sonny Throesch, David Helms, David Blevins, Ed Blevins, and Kenny Kimble.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Mann, Joey Moore, and Austin Rook.
