Marty Maurice Kirklin embarked on his final adventure on July 20, 2024, at the age of 56. Marty’s journey through life was as colorful and engaging as the games he surrounded himself with as the proud owner of his beloved game and hobby shop, K2 Games in Kennett. His creative spirit was not just confined to his business; it spilled over into his kitchen, where he loved to share his culinary creations. Marty’s game store was a hub of joy and camaraderie, where friends regularly gathered to challenge each other in role playing games and bask in his warm hospitality.

He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and creativity, cherished by his sister and brother-in-law, Melinda and William Mowrer of Kennett, his adoring nieces, Alli Mowrer and her fiancĂ© Ross James, and Hannah Mowrer; and his goddaughters Chyna and Betty Ann Palmer. Marty’s journey was made brighter by his friend and caregiver, Steve McNabb, along with a host of other friends and relatives who shared in his boundless imagination.

Marty’s life was a game well-played, and though the final level has been reached, the high score of memories he created will never be beaten.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service starting at 11:00 a.m.
