Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 6, 2025 — A Marion man faces several charges after police said they found over 800 grams of marijuana and other drugs in his apartment, months after he ran away from officers during a traffic stop.

Craighead County Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause June 6 to charge 23-year-old Antavius Jubari Forester with possession of a Schedule VI substance with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a Schedule IV or V substance with the purpose to deliver.

According to an affidavit, on April 21, officers stopped a car Forester was driving near Rook Road and Stadium Boulevard. During the traffic stop, it was noted that Forester “seemed to be super nervous and was not paying much attention to him [an officer].”

Police asked everyone to get out of the car, and once the front passenger got out, Forester put the car in drive and sped off, the affidavit said.

According to the affidavit, officers began a chase after Forester toward Caraway Road, with Forester traveling at high speeds and failing to stop while passing cars and eventually hitting one, causing damage. The chase continued through several streets until officers got to Kents Place, where they saw a car with its lights off and brake lights flashing at the end of Jeanne McQueen Place.

The affidavit said that once Forester saw the officers turn onto the street, he ran on foot. A K9 search was conducted, but no suspects were found.

Over a month-and-a-half later, Forester was arrested June 4 after agents said they found hundreds of grams of marijuana and other drugs at an apartment he and another person were living at.

According to another affidavit, during surveillance, agents saw Forester going outside with a trash bag in one hand and a tote bag in the other. They said he placed the trash bag in the bed of his truck and went back inside. He then used a key to assess the door after exiting his apartment a second time before leaving.

The affidavit said that agents followed Forester to a gas station, and he was arrested. Agents then searched Forester’s car, finding the tote bag he was carrying valued at $9,970. They also found two bottles of promethazine, a bottle with 12 milliliters of codeine, which is a Schedule V controlled substance, and a bag containing 4.2 grams of marijuana.

Officers took Forester back to his apartment for a search. There, they found five bags containing a total of 873 grams of marijuana in his bedroom. In the living room, another bag of marijuana was found, containing 13 grams, with a money counter next to the bag. A digital scale and two boxes of sandwich bags were also found above the stove.

According to the affidavit, Forester admitted in a Mirandized interview that the bag of marijuana found in the bedroom was his and not the other person who lived there.

Forester is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond in the Craighead County Detention Center. According to his bonding agreement, he must wear an ankle GPS monitor upon his release.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.
