Margie Varner Countess, 83, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024. She was born August 24, 1940, to Jim and Rellie Allred. Margie enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Baby.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, LaVern Varner; sisters-in-law, Sharon Allred, Kathy Allred, Glenda Allred; sister, Kathy Howard; and brother, Eugene Allred.
Survivors include her husband, James Countess; daughter, Tracy Liddell (Marc); brothers, Larry Allred, Sonny Allred, Randy Allred (Jan); grandchildren, Conner Liddell, Landon Liddell, Tyler Liddell, Shane Harrelson (Amanda), Jamie Harrelson; and great-grandchildren, Macy Harrelson, Chandler Harrelson, Hunter Harrelson, and Alexis Harrelson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Rusty McMillon officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
Brian Allred, Justin Allred, Jeremy Allred, Mont Cossey, Boyce Cate, and Ed Allred will serve as pallbearers.
