Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 12, 2024 – 46-year-old Houston Stackhouse pled guilty to second-degree Sexual Assault on Monday.
The rape was reported to Jonesboro police in November 2021 after reportedly occurring three times since September 2017. Stackhouse was arrested in December 2021.
He went before Judge Halsey in December 2021 and was given a bond of $250,000 c/s, a lifetime no-contact order with the victim and the victim’s mother, no unsupervised contact with any minor, and must register as a sex offender as conditions of his release.
In February 2022, Stackhouse filed for a bond reduction and was granted a $150,000 c/s bond and released.
After numerous hearings and continuances since 2021, he entered a guilty plea on September 9, 2024.
Stackhouse served 66 out of his required 120 days of jail time, and was given 120 months probation according to court documents filed on September 9, 2024.
He was re-arrested on the same day and will serve the rest of his jail sentence before being released on previously ordered conditions.
The victim’s mother provided text messages she sent to Stackhouse after her child told her about the rape. According to the probable cause affidavit, she told Stackhouse, “He took her child’s innocence, and she hated him for it.”
