Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – June 10, 2024 – According to a JPD report, a local maintenance man was called to fix a hole in the ceiling of a laundry room at an apartment complex on Oak Avenue on Friday.

While working to fix the hole, he heard a man’s voice coming from the attic. The police report states that “He looked inside the hole and noticed a man was laying inside the attic.”

Police arrived and attempted to make contact with the subject. The report states that when “trying to get the male to come down, the male would only mumble. He then stated he was hurt. Fire department was then called to the scene.”

Police also noted that there was a “strong odor of human defecation.”

Once the fire department arrived, the 30-year-old man was removed from the 3ft by 4ft area. The subject was incoherent and fire crews had to cut through studs, pvc pipe, and sheet rock to get him out. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers noted that a water heater, a pair of boots, a pipe, foil, and other items consistent with drug use were also present in the attic.

The report also states that police found a bucket that contained “piles of human feces,” indicating he had been there for some time.
