Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 6, 2024 – A Cash man is behind bars after being accused of the theft of a hot tub on Wednesday, May 1, from a Jonesboro business.

Jacuzzi Hot Tubs of Jonesboro, 2810 Highland Dr., reported to Jonesboro police that one of its hot tubs that was being stored behind the business was stolen.

According to Officer Jacob Lowry, he was told that, “On the previous night a dark-colored Chevy truck drove into their back parking lot in attempt to take a hot tub that was being stored in parking lot behind the building. The dark-colored pickup truck was unable to get the hot tub at this time and left. The same dark-colored vehicle then came back pulling a trailer this time and loaded the hot tub on the trailer.

On Thursday, May 2, JPD conducted a traffic stop on the truck on David Hunter Thomas, 28, and he was identified as the man in the video. A search warrant was obtained for Thomas’ residence in the 9800 block of Highway 91 in Cash.

The stolen hot tub was found in Thomas’ carport, police said.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Thomas with theft less than $5,000 but more than $1,000, a class D felony. He set Thomas’ bond at $1,000.

Thomas’ next court date is June 28 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
