Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 11, 2024 – Jonesboro police arrested a man Monday around 8 p.m. after finding drugs on his person.

An officer patrolling the W. Huntington/Olive intersection saw a man walking in the street. The officer drove closer and saw the 53-year-old man was on active parole, as he reportedly knew the man from interactions with other officers.

While conducting a parole search, the officer asked if the man had anything on him violating his parole. The man said he did, reportedly producing a plastic tobacco package with 0.2 grams of suspected marijuana.

According to the report, the officer also found 0.5 grams of suspected meth and a glass pipe with “white residue throughout” in the man’s sock.

Listed charges on the report are possession of meth or cocaine less than two grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of Schedule VI drug less than four ounces.

The arrestee was given a bond of $1,500 c/s and a court date of Oct. 30 at 8:30 a.m.
