Lynn Luster, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024, at his home. The son of Helen Faye Woodruff Luster and Alvin Dewey Luster, he was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Jonesboro.
He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1967 and later from Arkansas State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity.
Lynn was most at peace in the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or just sitting at a cabin listening to the creek running below. He also loved playing golf with his friends and family whenever he got the chance.
More than any of this, he loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren; he always had time to play and make silly faces and sounds.
Lynn was a deeply beloved husband, father, uncle, cousin, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa Luster; children, Aaron Luster and his wife, Lauren Barger and her husband Matt, and Zach Luster and his wife Kailey; seven grandchildren Oskar, Max, Holt, Wiley and Silas Luster, and Stella and Hallie Barger; and siblings, Bill Luster and his wife Anne, Doug Luster, and Susan Castro and her husband Lalo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his siblings A.D., Jim and Kenneth Luster, and Sandra Kay Montgomery.
He will be remembered for his kindness, which left an indelible mark on the lives of others. His legacy of love, compassion and integrity will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel, with a eulogy from his friend Sammie Lewis.
