Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 18, 2025 — The date and location have been set for July’s Neighborhood Cleanup.

City residents can drop off unused items from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the parking lot on the corner of Rains Street and Highland Drive, located at 701 E. Highland Drive.

City staff will be on-site to help load items into dumpsters, according to a news release from the City of Jonesboro.

Accepted items are listed below:

  • Clothes
  • Tires (limit to eight, no rims)
  • Basketball goals
  • Furniture (includes electronics such as TVs, computers and printers)
  • Appliances such as dryers, washers and fridges (freon and compressors must be removed)
  • Paint cans (must be empty of all paint, lids must be removed, and any residue must be dry)

Jonesboro residents can also bring glass to be recycled. The city will not accept the following items:

  • Yard waste/limbs
  • Tractor/semi tires
  • Hazmat materials, such as oils, flammable or corrosive materials, automotive parts, or motors
  • Remodeling/construction materials (single pieces are accepted, however)

If unable to make it to the cleanup, Jonesboro residents can drop off glass at the City Incinerator, located at 2650 Lacy Drive from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Saturday drop-off will remain available during Daylight Saving Time, which ends Nov. 2.

The cleanup for July was pushed to the second Saturday of the month due to the Independence Day holiday weekend. Cleanups are usually held on the first Saturday of each month.

‘Thank YOU, residents, for answering the call to participate in neighborhood clean-ups,” said a City of Jonesboro Facebook post announcing the cleanup. “And many thanks to our City’s Code Enforcement and Sanitation Departments, as well as the Keep Jonesboro Beautiful Commission, for working together to keep trash and tires off our streets and out of our waterways for most effective drainage.”
