Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 6, 2024 – At 6:28am on Saturday morning, E911 dispatch received a call advising that a home on Fairview was fully engulfed in flames.
The caller told dispatch that she could hear people screaming inside, a child was screaming “help,” and she was unsure if anyone was still inside.
A few moments later, the caller said that everyone was running out of the house.
The caller was Tina Lott. She was outside walking her dog and saw the home in flames. She ran over and began banging on the door to wake the residents up. She could hear them inside yelling, so she ran back home and called 911.
She advised that there were three adults inside along with three children, and their pet.
Several minutes later, E911 sent out a message: “Fully involved house fire on 3100 blk of Fairview. Please avoid the area on Fairview and Brazos. We have a lot of emergency vehicles in the area as well as several helicopters are being called to the area for injuries.”
JFD responded to the scene and verified that everyone was out of the house except for the family dog, who unfortunately perished in the fire.
Five of the six family members suffered several burns after running directly through fire to get out of the house. JFD even stated that there were “2nd degree burns on most of the victims.”
A landing zone was created at a nearby church parking lot, and four medical helicopters were called to the scene.
Two adult family members were transported to area hospitals by ambulance. Four others, including three children, a 2-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 5-year-old, were flown to hospitals by four separate medical helicopters.
JPD told JRN that one of the adults who went by ambulance “needed” to be flown, but would have had to wait for one of the helicopters to fly to Memphis, drop off a patient, then fly back, so they went via ambulance to save time.
The Fire Marshal advised that there were still hotspots in the home after 8am. JFD remained on scene to monitor.
A JPD Officer made a post on Facebook after he was cleared from the scene: Posted with her permission: This is Tina Lott. Thanks to her quick and brave actions this morning, she helped save 6 lives, 3 adults and 3 children, from a fully involved house fire. While their injuries are still serious, thanks to Ms. Lott, there were no deaths. I wanted her to be recognized for her quick response to this tragic event.

The officer told JRN, “This could have easily been 6 fatalities if she hadn’t seen the fire.”
Fire Marshalls will remain on scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
