Linda May Brannen George, 70, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at St. Bernards. Linda was born in Jonesboro on January 7, 1954, to W.D. Brannen and Bonnie Cook Brannen.
Linda worked as a cafeteria worker at Westside High School. In retirement, she enjoyed life by the lake, spending time hunting and fishing with her husband. She loved working in her flower garden, growing blackberries, and making jam, and had a deep affection for animals, especially her little dogs, pet deer, and the bottle calves they raised on their cattle farm.
Linda is survived by her husband, Gary George, son, Bradley George (Tristan Rudd) of Cash, aunt Carol (Joe) Mendoza of Visalia, CA, two stepdaughters, Laura (Wesley) Pierce of Jonesboro, and Misty (Mike) Shearin of Ennis, TX., grandchildren Kaylynn and Scotty Guthrie of Newport, Avery Howard, and Jessie Owens of Jonesboro, three great grandchildren and an adopted daughter Amy Shelton of Newport.
Services will be Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2p.m. at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Gary Cremeens officiating, Visitation will be from 1 till time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Dobbs, Matthesis Dobbs, Heath Russell, Jerry Gilliam, John Richmond, and Steve Brannen. Internment will be at the Johnson Cemetery in Cash.
