Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 30, 2024 – The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library’s new public calendar will go live this Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Rylie Yawson, Marketing and PR manager of the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library, said on Monday that the library has been wanting to sponsor a community calendar for quite some time.

“We understand how difficult it can be to find a calendar that is easy to view and navigate. This public calendar will showcase community events and provide a convenient, one-stop location for people seeking events in Jonesboro and the surrounding areas,” she said, noting that any events hosted by local businesses and organizations can be featured on the calendar.

The calendar will be completely free to view and use. It is also free to those who want their events featured on it.

For those interested in having a business or organization’s events included, simply email jcc@libraryinjonesboro.org with the event details, times, locations, a brief description, and a link to more information if available. The Marketing and PR manager will reach out with any questions or inform if the event has been selected for its feature.

Users will be able to find the community calendar at jonesborocommunitycalendar.com.

“We plan to offer the community calendar as an advertising platform for local businesses and organizations, which we will monetize,” she continued. “However, our goal is to provide affordable advertising opportunities for business owners. This will not be implemented immediately, as we want to first familiarize the community with the calendar and how to use it.”

We hope the Jonesboro community will embrace the idea of a local, free community calendar that will help them find fun and beneficial events specific to their needs,” Yawson said. “We are really looking forward to feedback from the community.”
