Larry Wayne “Pop” Moore, 77, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024. He was born September 9, 1947, to Lowell “Red” and Mabel Moore.
Pop loved spending time with his family no matter what we were doing. He started teaching his boys at an early age how to hunt, fish, and drag race. The trio would spend hours working on motors in the garage and most of the time had an audience of friends and loved ones. Pop also was a certified scuba diver, along with his brother-in-law. Later, both of his boys became certified scuba divers as well. There was nothing that Pop and his boys didn’t do together. Their favorite place was Calico Rock where Pop built the cabin. Once he became papaw, he started teaching the grandkids all the things he taught the boys. The grandkids loved their papaw and most times you could find them curled up in his lap. He was a member of the Union Central Church of Christ and a very proud Army Veteran.
On December 8, 1972, he married Louise “Lou” Stahl of Rector. They shared a loving marriage for 51 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Moore; parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Abel and Velma Stahl; and brother-in-law, Duane Dickinson.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Moore; son, Jake (Amy) Moore; daughter-in-law, Courtney Moore; grandchildren, Lane, Gemma, and Sawyer Moore; aunt, Pauline Shannon; sister-in-law, Lynda Dickinson; nieces, Melanie (John) Gamble, Jennifer (Shanon) Anthony, Jordan Mays, Maggie Lou Mays, and Ava Anthony.
