Larry Eugene Dorris, a cherished family man passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 29, 2024, in Rector, Arkansas. Born on July 20, 1939, in Braggadocia, Missouri, to the late Charles and Adell (Holcomb) Dorris, Larry’s life was a testament to his intelligence, wisdom, and thoughtfulness.
Larry’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to his family and his career. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda Dorris, and a guiding light to his children, Barry (Vicky) Dorris and Becky (Ronnie Jones) Dorris. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kaitelin Peterson, Maycee Peterson, Jacob Haske, Autumn Dorris, Jackie Dorris, Taylor Dorris, Lexi Dorris, and Katelyn Rosenstein, as well as his great-grandchildren, Asher Redieske, Lennox Redieske, Addison Rosenstein, Brycelynn Rosenstein, Caiden Rosenstein, Waylon Dorris, and Hazel Brewer.
Larry’s brothers, Bill Dorris and Bobby (Judy) Dorris, along with his sister, Janie (James) Roofe, remember him fondly as a pillar of strength and love in their lives.
Professionally, Larry was a retired Plant Manager in the Snack Food Industry, where his leadership and expertise were invaluable. His time in the National Guard reflected his commitment to service and community.
An avid sports fan, Larry found joy in watching games, a pastime only rivaled by his love for cooking and gardening.
A Memorial Service and Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector with the visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m.
