Larry Donald High, 72, of Biggers, AR, entered Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Montgomery, AL, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 15, 1952, in Lafe, AR, to the late Rev. Carl and Leora Ricker High, Larry was a man of faith and dedication. He was a deacon and member of Old Reyno Free Will Baptist Church. He retired from Skil/Bosch. A pillar of the community, Larry was one of the founding members of the Biggers-Reyno Volunteer Fire Department, where he served for an incredible 49 years. He was also a retired EMT and a dedicated member of the Biggers City Council, always striving to make a positive impact on those around him.
Larry’s love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of his life. He found joy in simple pleasures, like fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. A true “Mr. Fix It,” Larry built several houses and performed countless repairs, always eager to lend a helping hand. His greatest pride was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, James C. and Ethel Hart; sisters, Delores Garrett and Vonalea Teasley; brother-in-law, Bill Garrett; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hart; and niece, Cindy Hart.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Marsha Dale Hart High; son, Samuel (Jennifer) High; daughter, LeAnne (Jackie Jr.) High Thomas; brother, Carl High Jr.; brothers-in-law, Gary Hart and Edwin Teasley; five grandchildren, Savannah High, Cordell Thomas, Dakota (Kristen) High, Austin Thomas and Lizzie Thomas; and one great-granddaughter, Rasalina High. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Service will be Monday, September 23, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Old Reyno Free Will Baptist Church with J.M. Edington and Roger Hovis officiating, followed by a burial at Johnston Cemetery.
The family has chosen the following pallbearers to honor Larry: Danny Edington, Lindsey Ringo, David Graham, Nathan Woolard, Timmy Ennis, Tyler Ringo. Honorary pallbearers: Brayden Radcliff, Bryan Martin, Donald Denton, Vernie Barton, Charles Ray, James Radcliff, and Chandler Ringo. Their support and presence are a testament to the impact Larry had on their lives.
