Ladyman said, “I have decided to withdraw from the Speakers race. My wife has had a medical emergency and I need to support her. I always try to keep the main thing the main thing. Right now, supporting my wife is the main thing. I greatly appreciate the support I have received from many members of the House. I also appreciate the campaign that the other two candidates have run. I consider both of them friends. I will support whoever is the next Speaker in any way I can.”
