Monette- Karen Sue Burrell, 74, passed away on 12/08/2024.

Karen was born August 3, 1950, to the late James Leon and Berlie Taylor. She was the third child born of four, two preceded her in death. Karen was a 1968 graduate of Monette High School and went on to attend South Arkansas Community College, where she gained an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Technology. Her accomplishments during college included the National Dean’s List, Vice President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and Vice President of Phi Beta Lambda Business Society.

Karen married the love of her life, Marvin Burrell in 1969, two children were born from this union. Karen professed her life to Christ at an early age and the way she lived her life reflected her commitment to Christ. She was the glue of her family.

She loved to study, read, research, spend time with her family and dance. She was a loving and calming soul. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was always thinking of others first.

Karen is proceeded in death by her father, James Leon Taylor, her mother, Berlie Taylor, her brother Lonnie Taylor and her sister Shelia Norene Sims.

Karen leaves behind her cherished husband of 55 years, Marvin Burrell, her son Greg Burrell and  his wife, Lyndy, her daughter Kristi Scott and husband, Chris, 2 granddaughters, Breana Wright and Taylor Scott, 2 step grandsons, Riley Burrell and fiance , Summer, Tyler Crowe and wife, Britanie, 2 step great granddaughters, Haley Mason and Briar Burrell, her sister, Debbie Ware and husband, Len and a host of extended family, adopted family, nephews, nieces and friends.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Monette Cemetery in Monette Arkansas.
