Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 30, 2024 – A 14-year-old stabbed a 42-year-old man in the arm with a decorative bull horn on Dec. 28, police said.

Jonesboro police responded to the incident location, which was masked in the police report, on Dec. 28 around 9:45 p.m. regarding a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a JPD officer made contact with two victims, a woman and a man, who said the juvenile had physically attacked them and another person. He is currently on probation with the Craighead County Juvenile Office.

The officer detained the juvenile, who said the woman, his mother, and her boyfriend, the man, had attacked and choked him. According to the incident report, the juvenile had “physical marks visible” on his neck.

When the officer spoke with the couple, as well as another victim and two witnesses, they said the juvenile had become aggressive when asked to take his medications. The juvenile reportedly attacked his mother, striking her multiple times. A second victim attempted to stop the 14-year-old from attacking his mother, after which he started hitting this victim.

The man, who had been sleeping in another room, was awakened by the noise and attempted to restrain the juvenile. In response, the juvenile reportedly grabbed a decorative bull horn off of the living room coffee table and stabbed the man in the right arm with it.

The officer determined that the marks on the juvenile’s neck were a result of the victims defending themselves and the man restraining the 14-year-old. He was transferred to Juvenile Detention by another JPD officer.

The juvenile’s mother had inflammation to the left and right sides of her face and bruising around her neck. The second victim had scratches on her lower lip and bruising on her left forearm. The man had a stab wound in his inner right forearm and a scratch on his left pinky finger. He refused EMS and was not treated for his injuries, according to the incident report. All three victims were provided Laura’s Cards.

JPD sent the case to the Juvenile Department. Listed charges on the incident report are aggravated assault on a family or household member and 3rd degree domestic battering.
