Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – November 2, 2024 – With Tuesday’s general election looming, voters will be anxious to learn the results from the races they participated in.
While the national networks will handle the presidential election results, JonesboroRightNow will be first to report the results of balloting in Craighead County.
Editor Rachel Rudd, Chief Reporter Nena Zimmer, Brett Hall, Trey Stafford and the rest of the JRN team will bring you the election results as they are released from the Craighead County Election Annex. The results will be posted on JonesboroRightNow as well as announced on Jonesboro Radio Group stations (104.9 The Fox, 100.5 The Eagle and Mix 106.3).
Typically, the results of Early and Absentee Voting are released soon after the polls close at 7:30pm. 24,126 early votes had been cast as of the end of early voting hours on Saturday. Another 3,000+ absentee ballots are typically cast in the general election. That means the early and absentee voting results could be comprised of over 28,000 votes. Once those numbers are released the voting trends are historically pretty set. Only in very close races does the outcome sometimes differ from the indications given by the results from early and absentee voting.
Barring any technical glitches the complete and unofficial Craighead County voting totals are typically complete by 10pm on election night.
Jeanette Robertson (R) is chairman of the Craighead County Election Commission. Tammy Hodges (R) and Bruce Freeman (D) are also members. Craighead County Clerk Mary Dawn Marshall’s oversees candidate filings and voter registration. Jennifer Clack from Marshall’s office is the designated election coordinator.
