Update 9:25pm: Jonesboro Police confirm one person is in custody in connection with the shooting that occurred after 6:00pm in the area of Mary Jane and Fairview Drive North of Race Street in Jonesboro. The identity of the person in custody is not known. JPD said the victim’s injuries from that shooting appeared to be “non-life threatening.”
Another shooting was reported early Sunday morning in the 1600 block of Virginia Drive in Jonesboro. NEAReport reported that around 12:17 AM, a shooting incident was reported in the 1600 block of Virginia Drive. One female victim suffered a gunshot wound, possibly to the leg, according to the JPD desk sergeant. Police said one arrest had been recorded in that case. The suspect’s name has not been released.
In another gun related incident, JPD were called to an address in the Fox Meadow area Sunday evening. The caller said there was a domestic disturbance and a “male was choking a female.” Witnesses said someone present “shot a gun in the air to break it up.” Police were investigating.

The shooting was reported shortly after 6:00pm in the area of Mary Jane Street, which runs North from Race Street across from the Allen Park Community Center. Police are also looking at evidence on Fairview Drive which is also North of Race Street.
Reports suggest one person was shot. Those same reports indicate the subject was conscious at the scene.
Police are searching for a suspect.
